Articles and Studies
Many online sites
make use of various studies, articles, and polls about the
conferencing software and its corresponding business relations.
Here
is a summary of an article of businesspeople who continue to make
travel a huge part of their career ladder.
A recent
study commissioned by WebEx, developers of
web-conferencing software, studied the lives of 200 UK businessmen
and women and how much they travel a year. It was shown that they
take 12.9 flights a year just for business, and staying on average
5.2 days. Putting it all together, that would constitute to nearly
70 days a year travelling for business.
The study also showed that when travelling abroad, they rarely
venture out from their hotel rooms. The UK businessman or
businesswoman will usually stay in the hotel. Only eight percent of
the WebEx respondents went out.
For them, business travel has stopped being an exciting perk for
work. Since this is the case, it only supports the recommendation
that web-conferencing and virtual meetings should be heeded more.
While it cannot be always possible to meet online, the benefits
should nevertheless be looked at with greater curiosity and
interest.
